Hmmm ... I can see that I suppose. If I really examined it, I guess I DO experience dread and anxiety when I watch him, and I desire freedom from the theatre. All of this leads to a heightened sense of consciousness regarding my own existence.

So, Jaspers, Heidegger, Husserl, Sartre, Camus, Bouvoir ... and now Reeves!

      exactly!!!

Never more apparent than in my recent and regretful viewing of Constantine.

I am certain A Scanner Darkly, will only further his standing as the leading existentialist mind of the 21st century.

The source material MAY save A Scanner Darkly (fingers crossed), but I'm much more concerned about The Beachhouse. The celestial convergence of Reeves and Sandra Bullock could very well spell the end of humanity. All the hubbub on Tuesday was just a diversion from the bigger problem. Forget 6/6/06, I'm more worried about Reeves + Bullock + lame story = sucks/sucks/sucks.

          Reeves/Bullock is a "Speed" reunion.

As far as the movie, "The Beachhouse", I don't understand the premise at all. If they were separated by, say, 100 years, that would be a problem. But 2 years? The person from two years ago tells the other person to meet him at location X in a week. Then he arranges to go there in two years and one week. How bloody hard is that?

I must say that I did like Reeves in "Thumbsucker".

He was perfect for Thumbsucker. It's a typecast, but he should ALWAYS play spaced out hippie types. For some reason (ha ha, sarcasm) it just fits him.

Yes, THE BEACHHOUSE is a reunion, but if you recall, the SPEED convergence had terrible consequences in 1994 ... death of Kurt Cobain, attack on Nancy Kerrigan, beginning of OJ Simpson media storm, Gingrich named House Speaker, Woodstock '94, first frankenfood released in U.S., the baseball strike, etc.

I'm convinced that the suck-storm created by SPEED would have doomed the Earth if it hadn't been for three things that created a neagtively charged cool-storm: (1) the election of Nelson Mandela, (2) the release of SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, and (3) two words ... PULP FICTION. Tarantino trumps Reeves any day of the week.
